Personalised colours also available (please give us the RAL/HEX code or idea of colour) for +£25. All come in a standard gloss powdercoated finish.

Made to Order Build Time

All of our trolleys are made by hand in sleepy Lincolnshire. The boilers are imported from Germany (we couldn't find a suitable UK boiler manufacturer) and each one is checked thoroughly before it leaves us. They're run for a minimum of half an hour, and we make sure it all works before it leaves.


The making of the frames is a very time consuming process... the metal is bent and welded... and then loaded into the back of Boris The Van, where they're taken to the Nice Powdercoater Down The Road, who makes them look pretty. Powdercoating has to be done in batches, so we have to wait for a batch of the same colour ones to build up to get them all done at once. This can delay things slightly, if you go for an unusual colour. 

Then the prettier frames come back (in Boris) and have their hinges and doors etc tested and aligned. The boilers are tested, and assembled. And then the children in the family stick the stickers on. Couriers are booked. And the showers are wrapped. 
So.... all of this work means that your shower isn't going to arrive immediately. We pride ourselves on the handmade-ness of our showers (we've been repeatedly approached by factories offering to make them at discounted price) - but this does mean the shower can take time, please check our home page for current lead times. So be patient... it'll be worth the wait!

Where We Ship

At the moment we ship within the United Kingdom only.

However, we are currently working on expanding our shipping options and worldwide shipping will be available very soon! We want to make sure we get it right so the rest of the world can experience the awesomeness of the Hippo Showers. If you are located outside the UK and are interested in purchasing a Hippo Shower, feel free to contact us at info@hipposhowers.co.uk and we will do our best to sort.

Shipping Rates

Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based on the weight of your order.

Because our products range from small accessories and grooming products through to larger Hippo Shower units, the shipping cost will vary depending on the size and weight of the items you purchase.

All shipping costs will be clearly shown at checkout before you complete your order.

Order Processing Time

Orders for our smaller items such as the Bubbl-o and our grooming accessories are typically processed within 1–3 working days.

During busy periods this may take slightly longer, but we always aim to dispatch orders as quickly as possible.

Made to Order Products

Many of our gas Hippo Shower units are handmade to order, rather than held in stock.

For these products, the typical build and dispatch timeframe is approximately 2–3 weeks.

This information is clearly stated on the relevant product pages, so customers know the expected lead time before placing an order.

Once your order has been dispatched, you will receive a shipping confirmation email.

If your order contains both made-to-order items and in-stock accessories, your items may be shipped separately. 

Delivery Times

Delivery times can vary depending on the courier and your location, but typical UK delivery times are:

  • Standard UK delivery: 2–5 working days after dispatch

Please note that delivery timeframes are estimates and not guarantees, particularly during busy periods such as holidays or major sales.

Large or Heavy Items

Some Hippo Shower products are large or heavy and may be shipped via specialist couriers.

These deliveries may:

  • Require a signature upon delivery

  • Take slightly longer than standard parcel deliveries

If there are any specific delivery requirements, we will contact you after your order is placed.

Incorrect Address Information

Please make sure your shipping address is correct at checkout.

Hippo Showers cannot be responsible for delays or additional costs caused by incorrect or incomplete delivery information.

If you notice an error in your order details, please contact us as soon as possible.

Lost or Delayed Parcels

If your parcel has not arrived within the expected timeframe, please contact us and we will work with the courier to resolve the issue.

Courier Delays

Once your order has been dispatched, delivery is handled by a third-party courier.

While we always choose reliable delivery partners, delays caused by couriers are outside of our control.

Delivery timeframes are estimates rather than guaranteed dates, particularly during busy periods such as:

  • Christmas and peak shopping seasons

  • Severe weather

  • National courier disruptions

If your delivery is delayed, please contact us and we will always help track your order and resolve the issue where possible.

    Frames are handmade in Lincolnshire. We started off making the frames in our shed... but now they're made in a slightly bigger building about 2 miles from home. With each one being handmade by us, we can guarantee they're made to work... for the job they're designed for

  • Powder Coated

    They're all powder coated by a Very Nice Man, just down the road from us. We used to hand spray the frames... but Mr Hippo ended up with very colourful nostril hair... and it wasn't as hardwearing as powder coating. So now we powder coat our frames to ensure they last. As we do each one to order, we can personalise them or colour match them.

  • Gas Safety

    All gas boilers are tested and commissioned before they leave us. We also take the boilers back for their annual service and repairs. We pride ourselves on the reliability of our boilers. They're designed to work. Using a battery powered pulse ignition, and no 'pilot' light to blow out, we proudly stand high above all our competitors. And we're so confident, we can offer a 5 year guarantee on our boilers.

Meet The Hippo Family!

We are a little family business, based in deepest Fenland in South Lincolnshire.

When none of the other showers on the market measured up to what we needed, and weren't safe enough to ensure Mrs Hippo wouldn't burn the yard down, Hippo Showers were born.


It was our mission to make something SAFE and useable. We didn't want to join the (dangerous) trend of strapping a gas bottle onto a sack barrow, next to a boiler containing actual flames. There are too many of 'those' types on the market and they wouldn't pass a basic safety gas check!

Our (Patent Office protected) designs combined with our super self-igniting boilers with auto-protection means you're in safe hands!
